When taking screenshots, the less stuff you have to do, the better. Easy Screen Capture And Annotation is a program that won't let you lift too many fingers for this process. If you haven't guessed from the name, it's a print screen utility.

The 1.53 installation package won't be a challenge for any kind of Internet connection. And, with a straight forward wizard, the program will be ready to go in one minute tops.

The interface looks a lot like MS Paint. The options are displaced in the same manner. The bulk of the options found in the top menus are nothing you won't find on the main window or anything that can't be done via hot keys. You will want to take a look through them, however, because you will find the application settings here and thus you can see and change the hot keys for different capturing modes.

There are quite a few ways of taking a screenshot. You can capture an active window with or without its borders, the full screen, by clicking and dragging a rectangle or the whole screen.

Once the capture is made, it will be automatically pasted in the main window and you'll be prompted if you want the canvas enlarged should the screenshot prove to be too large. After pasting an image, you can edit it by adding text or different callouts like speech bubbles and other shapes. There are a few other options you can find in the interface, like setting the screenshot's opacity level, rotate, blur it, but the most interesting feature is that you can either send it via email or upload it to photobucket.com directly from the interface.

Pros

The program lets you manipulate screenshots in a large number of ways. Being similar to MS Paint makes the interface familiar and easy to use for any experience level user.

Cons

It gets a bit sticky when taking too many screenshots. They won't be pasted on different tabs or something of the sorts. Instead, they will be placed one on top of another. At least you can still select individual layers and save them separately by right clicking on them. You can forget about the tedious work of taking screenshots, manually paste them and cut them according to your need. With Easy Screen Capture And Annotation, your only concern is using hot keys for any type of capture.
